Gemological Products the story

Gemological Products was established in 1980 in Santa Monica with the debut of our Portalab, the first complete portable gemological laboratory. Our showroom across the street from the Gemological Institute of America became a gathering place for the gemology students and the local gemology public. Many also know us from our decades of participation at the annual Tucson Gem Show. The popularity of the Portalab spurred the development of our well-established Gem Pro Instrument line.

Today, Gemological Products is located in Sunriver, Oregon and has remained a leading force in gemological testing equipment. Over the years our high quality Gem Pro products and superior service have made us a favorite of the gemological and jewelry community. We also offer a line of unique and largely US manufactured products to support the needs and challenges facing today’s jeweler/gemologists
